The Centre for Research and Documentation (CRD), Kano held a seminar on the Nigeria Leather Industry

On 16th May, 2013 a one-day interactive seminar was organized by the Center for Research and Documentation (CRD) Kano, with support from Enhancing Nigerian Advocacy for a Better Business environment (ENABLE). The seminar was held at Aminu Kano Center for Democratic Research and Training, Mambayya House, Gwammaja, Kano. The seminar was organized to discuss major findings from the survey conducted by the Centre on ‘the Nigeria Leather Industry, Potential for Revitalization: A Study of the Kano Leather Business Sector’.  Present at the occasion were stakeholders from both the public and private sectors of the leather industry. The seminar was meant to understand and  discuss issues revolving around the Nigerian leather industry, to identify its potential and create ways through which such potential can be harnessed in order to regain the sector`s past glories. The seminar was very educative, interactive and result oriented because major issues affecting the leather industry were discussed. In addition, plausible recommendations on how to move the Nigerian leather industry to greater heights from its current decaying situation were made.
